I know we aren't supposed to bash LFS's so I'm going to tell everyone what a great experience that I had there. I bought the upgraded hood for my 24 gallon Nanocube from Steve at Planet Reef in Maryland Heights. It's a bit of a drive for me but it turned out to be worth the trip. Not only was the hood over $100 cheaper from the LFS than anywhere else that I found it on-line but when I had a problem Steve contacted JBJ and helped me to find a solution. He went way beyond the call and his store's customer service is absolutely second to none!

I think giving props to good customer service or a experience is a great thing and people don't do it enough.

just my 2 cents and that ain't much.

I need to call Steve and tell him personally but you're right. People don't tell when something good happens only when they get hosed.
 
I might see it a bit differently. Now I know you see the posts when someone is upset and complains, but you said outstanding customer service.

While I have usually had good customer service at each LFS I go to, I wouldn't say outstanding service each time. However I don't expect "outstanding service" just a friendly staff person to help me out.

That being said, I think most people on here let everyone know about the outstanding service when it happens, at our LFS and online stores too.

The LFS I frequent most is because the customer service is always as nice as they can make it and when I have a problem they try and help as much as they can.
 
I rather drive the 30 minutes to Planet Reef then go to the one I live by. Customer service, fish, coral... all awesome...
