Planning 10g Hex tank

I have a 10g hex tank currently with freshwater fish in it.

I want to set either a FOWLR or a mini reef tank.

Someone was telling me that the lighting would be really hard for this tank.

Is there any light that would fit good or should I just settle with FOWLR?

Also.. Can I use sand from like a beach if I boil it in water?

If I were to set up a 10g FOWLR what fish and how many would I be able to put in there?

I plan on getting atleast 10lbs LR and will be setting up a AC30 HOB refugium with cheato and lr etc.
