Planning a 150gal reef tank

I'm planning to setup a 150gal reef tank (48"x30"x25") and want to use the Tunze Wave Box. I will also be running a 1500gph pressurized pump. How many additional streams would I require and how would you position everything? Thanks

I would use 2 6000, the wavebox will need to be roughly centered on an end wall. The streams can go one on each side or back corner and should be aimed across or both to the front center- you have to play with this and find what works for you.

Mostly yes. In my tank I have found the heavier detritus like tang poop and the material snails and urchins rasp off still needs occasional siphoning but it is better than without.

I also read in other threads that a 4ft long tank my be too small for the wave box. whats your opinion on that? my tank demensions are 48"x30"x25". thanks again

I am using one on a 75, you can kind of see the wave in my gallery pics. I get a 1" wave, 4ft and up it works very well.

rvitko,

i'm having my tank buit now, for the wave box is it better to have the overflow in the center or in a corner? Also can the unit be mounted on a tank with euro bracing (glass cage tank)?

For euro bracing you will need the magnet holders. I would get a centered overflow with teeth ending 1.5" below the tank edge, so that the water level is about 1" from the top.

They make it easier to install but it is only a necessity if you have perimeter bracing or a canopy.
