Planning a sumpless 75G

My goal is to setup a sumpless 75G tank that is somewhat low tech. I am looking for some opinions and suggestions to help make this successful.

I plan to move all the rock and inhabitants in my 30G to this tank. It is mostly softies with a few LPS and a bubble tip anemone. My main goal for the corals is to increase the number of LPS. I may put a few SPS in there but nothing more then a Monti or maybe a slimmer.

For the fish, I will be moving over from the 30 a perc, 2 chromis, a watchman goby and a bicolor blenny. I plan to try to find a mate for my perc and would like to add a dwarf zebra or fuzzy lion if it will not endanger my other inhabitants (I do know that means no shrimp but will the fish be ok.) If the lion is no good do you have any suggestions.

TANK
AGA Standard 75G.

LIGHTING
Dual 175W MH and 4 65W PC in a hood.

FLOW
This is where my big question lies. Will 4 Maxijets strategically placed be enough? What about Koralias? Are they nice. I would like some random flow if possible. Any thoughts?

SKIMMER
Anyone know of a good HOB. I currently have a prism. It does a good job only if I clean it every day and constantly fiddle with it. I also have a Jebo that does a surprisingly great job but it is not really a HOB and is very bulky.

Heating/Cooling
2 200W Stealth heaters on temp controller. Hopefully no need to cool the tank. There will be fans on the MH and we keep the house cool.

SAND
1-2” aragonite, this will be all new sand with a cup or two from my 30g to seed. I have heard some horror stories of people trying to reuse old sand.

ROCK
80 â€"œ 90 lbs, 35 will be coming from my 30G.

I currently use 2 part for alk. and calcium so I do not plan to run any reactors.

Some things I have been throwing around and would appreciate some feed back are. A false wall to hide equipment or a HOB refuge. I think with the false wall I may loose quite a bit of space. The HOB refuge I know nothing about but saw one once and it intrigued me. Do they really work, could I hide anything like heaters in it?

Am I missing anything?

Thanks,
Steve

hang on fuge are nice to have for pods to reproduce, i prefer aqua c remora pro as far as hang on skimmer goes, or atleast the aqua ce remora. there were a couple for sell on here a while back.
i have a 29 gallon and a 125 gallon sumpless tank just sandbed, live rock, and skimmers for filtration, and hang on sump with chaeto in them.

What kind of load do you have in your 125 and do you have any problems with algae.

I will do some research on the Aqua C Remora, thanks for the suggestions.

What do you do for flow in the 125? Do you have any pics?

Thanks

OK I looked at the AquaC Remoras. It shows several different pumps available. Which is the best one to use? Also it appears it just pulls water from below the surface. Is there a surface skimming attachment or is it not needed?

i got the one with rio 1400 but i added the rio 2500 cause it had same size outlet and with bigger pump it really puts out some skimmate. for flow i use a maxi jet med flow mod 1200, and a korali #4. getting over an algae bloom right now because older light bulbs and workin alot had some neglect but got new bulbs and spending more time on tank. you could use surface skimmer if you wanted, so if you do buy one most say mag 3 is a better pump but if you get the one with rio don't buy preskimmer box, big and bulky but if you really want one i got mine that i no longer use id give to ya for like a couple of bucks or a coral frag of some kind.

For flow do you just use one modded MJ and one Koralia #4? If do you think that would be to much flow for a 75. Remember, this will not be an SPS tank. At least not for a few years.

if you got the money tunze is the way to go, otherwise i would use 2 #3 korali, or even yet on cheaper side 4 maxi jets 1200 may work fine once you get them aimed right in tank. My 125, is softies, and clams. 29 gallon is a variety of lps, sps, softies.
