planning for corals

Alright!!! I was given $$$ by the finance commitee and I upgraded my lights. I bought a 130watt jebo light 65 watt daylight and 65 actnic. My refugium is in the works. My tank is a 29 gallon. All water par. are on the dot. Can you guys throw out the names of some good looking softies and shrooms so I can look them up and start planning.

Pretty much any soft coral will do fine under that lighting. There are so many choices you're better off linking to specific pics of corals you like.

pretty much what agu said with the exceptions of a few. Some are just hard to keep, but most softies and i even have a couple lps in my 29 w/that sized light.

thats a bummer...those lights are known to go out after only a few months or a year or so. I'm not saying yours will, but they're cheap for a reason. Just giving you a heads up so you dont get all frustrated if/when it does break down

When it comes to equipment in this hobby, 9 times out of 10, you get what you pay for.

many many people on here, and also personal experience with that brand

And like cowboyswife said...pretty much every time you buy something....if it is the cheapest of that type (like in this case, jebo makes probably the lowest priced 2x65w pc fixture out there. I'm guessing under 100?) anyways if you get something that is the same specs as other stuff, but a lot cheaper...it will probably not be the greatest or longest lasting.

like skimmers. If you buy a seaclone skimmer, you pretty much wasted your money since you'll just want to upgrade right away anyways. See what i mean?

like i said tho...you may have got a good one or something. Not ALL of them break down but many do. And i'm sure there will be that one person to post in this thread soon that says they're a great product lol. They may say that its lasted 4 years or something. That may be...but if something has a known reputation to not last..i tend to not bother with it (specially after taking the chance with jebo)
