Planning my 120G tank, need opinion

I'm working on planning out my 120G tank (4'x2'x2') I was going to go with another closed loop setup but I really want to have my tank as close to the wall as possible, plus I want to cut back on the maintainance so the closed loop is out. The tank will be primarily SPS and some LPS (acan, favia, gorigonas, etc..) so I will need good flow through the tank. I'm leaning toward the following setup:

1x Tunze wavebox
1x 6000 Stream
1x 7095 controller

I will also have about 800gph from the sump return.

Does this sound like enough flow, would it be better to get the 6100 stream?

Thanx

Well never mind on the above post. I was able to purchase a TS24 kit that is basiclly new for a great price from someone so I will be using it in my 120G tank, I think I'll hold off on the wavebox now...

One question though, the 2 6100 pumps had there front housing altered so I would like to replace both of them. Where can I purchase the housings?

Thanx,

Rich

I sell them, they are quite pricey though, they cost $45.76 each. If you need them please check whether you need black or brown, I have both colors in stock. The 6100's will be a lot for a 120, it sounds like it will work with your inhabitants but you need to carefully increase the flow so they don't stress and lose tissue.

Roger,
I will check them out to make sure I need the covers before I order any. The person cut out some of the grids so that it would "increase" the flow, I'm just worried that it could allow a fish to get sucked in now.

Yeah that is a lot of flow, I plan to do the 120 barebottom so that will keep the sand storm down. Plus I will have to slowly ramp the flow up as you suggested.

Thanx,

Rich

Sorry to tag on, but...

I am also looking to create flow in my new 120 (4*2*2). Sump return is 800GPH. Want to grow LPS, softies, shrooms, zoos and maybe some easy SPS (if there is such a thing).

What do the gurus at Tunze recommend?

SPS are actually pretty easy, they just need brighter light, cleaner water and higher flow.

I would go with a 6000 and a wavebox. You could use either the 7091 or 7095 controller.

Roger,
So, with the wavebox and the 7095 controller do you still need to have the wave controller or could you just buy the wavebox extension?

Yeah SPS are not hard they just have OTHER requirements...

Thanx,

Rich
