Planning my next build and need recommendations for people to help with the build.

I would like to start picking up equipment for a build that will be in the 150-200g range, and would like to run a controller with a fair amount of fail safes, be able to connect to my tank from my phone etc. So a Full apex most likely.
I am hopeful I could get with someone local that I could pay for their time to assist me in getting it done correctly, so if anyone is confident in their abilities with a apex or other controller and would like to make some side money let me know and we can talk.

Also I am wondering if anyone could recommend someone local to build a stand?
 
I don't have experience with controllers but if you need a cheap labor, I like to help you out anyway possible, just a couple of beer would do the trick ;)
I'm planning on setting a similar tank in the future and would be great to experience a full build, before I start mine own.
 
I am sure we can work something out as that wouldn't affect payroll much lol. I would really like to be involved with the club a little more this go around as well as would like to meet some people that I could hire to take care of my tank while on vacations. I'll be building the tank in my garage specifically cause I would like to have other enthusiasts over and not upset the wife and kid.
 
I've done a couple setups, learned a lot, and plan to do my "final" perfect setup that will be a 120. I also run an Apex, auto top off, doser, built my own mixing station, and have ideas on how to even simplify water changes further than I have already (short of full automation).
 
Yeah, in Petaluma, totally willing to help out, for free unless it starts to heavily eat into my time, then we can talk about future coral trades, haha.
 
Just PM me info/details and we'll get together. I am not ashamed to admit that building tanks excites me more than having one, haha. I have the same problem with cars, computers, and everything else.
 
I'm with you actually. That's why I want my system to be automated so I can play with new toys as the years go by cause I like the changing tech of things. Pumps, lights, etc.
 
I'm setting my future tank in the garage as well because of similar reason. I'm in Santa Rosa, let know if you need help and I will do my best to do so.

I enjoy the setup as much as the final tank, I like to experiment and test different ideas.
 
Hey Steve. If you're at the same house, I'm still super close and don't mind tank sitting during vacations.

Also I don't use apex, but if you end up with a reef angel I can help you out.
 
Yeah I'm still at the same house and that would be much appreciated. It's a little ways down the road but I want all my ducks in a row before I get another tank that way I have a rebutle for anything the wife throws at me, and I know for sure one will be regarding vacations.
 
I almost forgot to ask. How are my fish? You had my clowns and then the clown goby right? I know the yellow goby was banished but how did that workout?

Nah that was Nick. I have both of your tangs. They're doing great!
 
Here is my 2c as I have had a successful 210 with very low maint due to automation.

An apex will be plenty of control power, but you will need modules for automation.

1) Get a really good skimmer. I had a aquamaxx cones CO3 which was amazing.
2) Calcium reactor with solenoid, ph controlled by apex, and a nice (quiet) peristaltic pump.
3) Huge sump mine was 90-100G
4) plan powerheads in each chamber, apex controlled to keep clean (lots of apex outlets, and cords)
5) plan on playing around with flow in the tank as that can reduce maint also.
6) automatic water change system. I used a reffiller 2000 pump. Apex controlled.
7) monitor system ph (apex module)

Plan on a ton of programming and making cables for float switches... Also lots of fabrication work on acrylic.
