Anyone local currently running/ever built a horizontal calfo style overflow?
I am looking to put one of these on the short side of an AGA 210g.
AGA says they can drill their tanks this way (on the 24" side), I just have to have the lfs specify this type of driiling when I order. They don't look too hard to make, but wondering if anyone has any experience with them.

Type in Calfo and manifold on the search engine and there is a number of threads that go into it. In short, get it tall enough to plumb a durso on the top of the pipes. Probably need to get the pieces, put it togather and measure. Give it extra to be sure.

I wouldn't do the teeth, and only two 1" or 1.5" holes to the sump. And two 1.5" holes drilled lower for a closed loop.
This guy's drain seems to work are there any potential problems with this type set up?

No more than any overflow. I personally would do teeth though as it can keep things out of the overflow and the drain pipes which DO cause problems. i.e. snails, fish, etc.
