Plastic Nut for Float Valve

Did you look in the hardware section at HD or Lowes where the nuts and bolts are. There are usually drawers with that type of stuff in them. Plumbing dept would be my second suggestion, but I'm pretty sure my local stores have them in the hardware section.

Do you have a local store that specializes in nuts / bolts and connectors? That or a large plumbing warehouse might stock something like that nylon nut.

If this is the tubing nut, it is a compression fitting with special seats.

You will not likely find this loose at a HD or Lowes.

Agreed. Depending on what it is and where you purchased it, some places like US Plastics have "repair" or "spare parts" kits.
