Plastic or rubber container

Is a sterilite tote ok? I picked one up and have water in it now - probably not food grade but I didn't need a big trash can.
 
Look on the plastic container and there should be a recycle code with a triangle stamped on it. #2, #4, and #5 (Polyehtylene, polypropylene) are considered safe.
 
I don't know if they use the same codes over there that we do. You guys Home Depots or Lowes over there? Their inventory is probably going to come from the same place. If not maybe a name of a home improvement you DO have and some people on the board can check out the construction.

I have used sterilite totes (and many other random plastic containers) without any noticeable problems my whole reefing life.

"food grade" IMO means nothing for us and its just another "certification" that many plastic containers "could" be approved to if needed/wanted by the manufacturer..
