noticed some "discoloration" today. not sure what's going on. the only thing i have changed is that i put a little more flow in the front of my tank as i am fighting a battle with cyano.

Looks ok to me, I also have a smaller green one with pink mouth and occasionally the very edge seems lighter or discolored. But it always bounces right back.

With your params the only thing I can think of, is I have read that higher calcium levels promotes better growth, but not as great coloration. Does it seem to be increasing in size much?

the discolor i was referring to is around the outer edge, at the sand bed. the mouth is ok and it's eating fine. now that i re-read what i typed, my calcium shoulda been 480. that's where it pretty much stays. it has increased in size a little in the months i've had it but nothing i would call significant.

Can you tell if it's the tissue bleaching, or has it receeded and exposed those septa?

Hope it's OK... that's a nice looking coral!

thanks! i haven't really been able to tell if it's bleaching or if it has receeded. it was a little too close to an acan but i don't know if that would affect it?

i'm also having a terrible problem with cyano. ugh!

It could... acans can be mean buggers. But if the acan was attacking it, I don't think you'd have any tissue to speak of on that entire side.

i moved it away as soon as i saw it had wandered close to the acan. i had the plate a little too far back for its liking and it moved to the front out into the light. hopefully, i caught it in time!
