Plate coral??

I have what I think is a 1x1" piece of plate coral that I got from my lfs in a handful of rubble about 8 months ago. I had no idea what to do with it and didnt know what to do with it. I knowing at the time i didnt have enough light to bond ot to the rockwork i glued it to a small mag-float and put it up high in the light. it died back a good bit so i wrote it off. Well, since installing my LEDs, buying my rodi and really stepping up my water monitoring and maintenance it has taken off!! It died back to only a little "skin" around the base of the polyps to now almost better than when I got it.

Where should it live in my tank??

It seems to like high flow the more powerfull light.

Here is the piece. I had to turn it tords the camera to get the pic. The polyps were only about half open. They didn't like the movement.

Looks like a tubinaria to me, commonly referred to as a Cup Coral. Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with these under LED lighting, so I can't comment, but I had one that did very well under PCs.

Agreed. I have one under LED lights, and it's doing fine.

Plate corals are flat guys, a little higher in the middle. Like silver dolors.
