Plate coral

Hi I'm new to coral keeping and I received a plate coral from a friend and I need to know everything about them.Also will nuscence algae harm them

It needs to be on the sand and it needs room to move. If you have a fighting conch, put the fighting conch in the sump: the spur can accidentally kill the coral.

Also, should the coral fail and die, do not discard the skeleton: it frequently brings forth a raft of offspring. Set your water parameters to match mine (my sig line) and provide calcium supplementation.

Plates are fine on flat pieces of rock, glass, or even eggcrate. I feed mine Fauna regularly, and it remains stationary aside from inflating itself
