Plate Coral

Any suggestions on where to place a plate coral? From what I have read they prefer minimal water flow and to be close to the ground. That is currently where mine is but doesn't seem to be doing too well.
Does anyone have experience with this?

Definetly keep it on the sand. I have had them typically in low/medium flow

They will move around until they find a happy place. Keep it on the sand.

Mine is on the sand.
In my experience fungias move around some but although I'm sure they're capable, my Helios never move. What makes you think yours isn't doing well? I notice that mine looks a little droopy before it finishes its digestion process. But then it excretes waste and is ship shape the next day.
Mine get little flow- the tentacles just wave a bit.

I believe that the hard part of keeping these corals is getting them home and in the tank without any damage. If this is a new coral I would suspect physical damage to be the problem. They don't seem to recover well from this so I hope there is something else going on here. Good luck.
