Plate tissue gone but still has color?

I have had a green and an orange plate in my tank for a few months now and they were doing very well. I was feeding them a couple times a week and the water params were spot on and still are. Anyways over the last couple of weeks they haven't been looking too good and not it appears as though they are both skeleton, but they are still orange and green? I would think if they were totally gone that they would have just turned white. Is there any hope for them?

Always , ALWYS keep your plate corals even when they are dead skeletons. Some have the ability to rise frome the dead and will spit out baby fungias for your enjoyment. Mine died about a year ago and I just got 7 off of it that are about the size of a 50 cent piece. The skeleton is smaller but they will grow. Plus there's about 20 more sprouting up still.

Mine gets like that sometimes for a day or so. The tentacles don't extend, basically a green skeleton like you said. Then it's fine again.

i bought some live rock with a red and green chalice skeleton on it. a week later i noticed it had started to skin over. so yes, keep it. you may be pleasantly surprised like i have been

@SaltieG Question for you. So your plate was green and orange? and then lost the flesh so only the skeleton was exposed? and that was green and orange? I ask because like i posted, I bought a rock with a red and green skeleton that had no flesh and now is regaining it and I am VERY curious as to what color it will turn out to be. So if the skeleton is an indication of color then i'll have a fabulous looking chalice.
