I recently added a decent sized piece of Platygyra sp. to my tank. I am curious if their growth patterns are actually spherical, or if they obtain the shape of the surface they are growing on?
Would putting this type of coral on a small isolated rock be better than placing it on the sand bed? (as far as shape is concerned.)
