Hi all,

I have been keeping a platygyra brain coral for some time now, it has been doing fine but has slowly lost its colors over the past year. First it looked like this:

Now the whole coral has transformed completely into dark green, it has lost its light green patches. It still extends tentacles at night and seems fine otherwise.
Does anyone have experience bringing back the colors? Should I feed it?

Regards

Feeding it is worth a shot.

I would bet moving into more or less lighting would help. Could you tell us about your lighting? Specific fixture? T-5, MH, LED? How many watts?

I'm running a Maxspect 300w 16k + 2x T5 ATI coral+ (54w).
Should be enough for this kind of coral? It's not SPS.

Maybe it doesn't have enough nutrients, I've been running very low on nitrates lately...
