Play nicely, Spooted Grouper

So I have a spotted Grouper about 5.5" Spotted Group that is getting lonely since his tank mate (fuzzy dwarf Lion) passed away.

I wanted some suggestion's on some tank mate's for him.

Tank size is 50 gallon's with PC lighting.

Uhhhh...Do you realize how big that Grouper is going to get???

Right now your 50G is overstocked! I would also suggest a lion or puffer but not in a 50G. Most lions and puffers need at least 120G tanks. But first you should look up that Grouper and check out how huge they get!

Actually what kind of spotted grouper is it? As far as I know, they range from 19" to 13'! None are really all that small...

I know one day it will out grow my tank, but for now he's a baby. Well I've had him for about a year and he hasn't grown much. He has lot's of room to swim as I one have 3 large rocks in the tank.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Oh ok. Sorry I thought he was bigger already. Can you maybe upgrade to a 120? Then a dogface puffer would be awesome and maybe a snowflake eel?

This is my office tank, Max sixe right now is 50g. My new building that we will be moving to next year won't fit anything biger, so I'm stuck with this size for the office. Home tanks are all Reef so I can't take him home

Sounds like you have the perfect excuse for a another huge tank.

LOL, I wish. Running a 100g at home with an 80g sump, a 12g nano, and the 50g at work..... Hmm Too many tanks to keep up with let along actually work. LOL

Here the picture of my Grouper someone asked for:

Thanks. I guess I got mixed up until now. LOL Yeah he will have to be moved into a bigger tank one day, but for now he's doing very well in the 50g or 55g, not sure exact size of tank as you can tell. :-)

Maybe my new office will have more space, won't know till my office is completed in Jan. or Feb. of next year.
