Please correct me if I'm wrong

I grew this chalice from a penny frag about 2 years ago. It's been fragged twice. Here it is from a earlier picture about a year ago.

Here it is present.

We just always called it an alien eye. But since it is deep purple I noticed its resemebles the watermelon grape alien eye. Can anyone confirm this so I know what to correctly know the name.

my frist guess was alien also... can a chalice morph like zoa's under diffrent lighting? did you switch lights/bulbs?

Yeah, it was under 10k 250 watt. Now its under 20k 250 so the purple base shows more purple than the lighter purple under the 10k. I highly doubt chalices can morph, maybe they can but I never seen documented. I've seen colors pop under diffrent lighting but not a morph.

They do sometimes morph a lot. Your chalice looks like your typical alien eye chalice though.

If you look on the club forum in BAR or northcoast reefers, there is a topic in regards to a frag swap that we are getting ready to throw.
