Our new reef aqaurium plans are coming alone slowly but surely.

The tank will be 48"x31"x30". The main pump will be a high head pump located in the basement. The return of this pump will be split to 2 returns with an oscillator mount on one return and the second return on a spray bar located underneath the liverock work to keep detritus from settling.

I wanted to put 2 6000's in the tank on a multicontroller. What do you think of this? Too much flow? I was thinking of putting them opposite of each other (48" from each other) and using the tide function.

I would like to keep SPS and other high flow species.

Thanks for your help...again.

Sounds good as far as the Streams go but with a tank this wide you could place them on the back wall. Tide mode isn't the end all be all of flow, it works in some case but in your situation I would put them on the back and use pulse mode with opposite pulse frequencies so one pump is at 30% and the next at 100% and then they switch off every few seconds. Their was a thread I saw with some really cool flow switching manifolds- I might consider that (beautiful CNC work in heavy schedule 80 PVC plate- look for Oceansmotions) and a strong caution on the bottom spray bar. Very easy to back siphon your whole tank in a power failure and I generally don't recommend it. With enough flow detritus won't accumulate and their really is no need.

When I see the word Tunze and www.Oceansmotions.com in the same thread I feel honoured, thanx for the comments, comming from you it's a compliment.

Just a quick note though, I only recommend the spray bar on a closed loop system, the other could well be a disaster.

No problem Paul! I was quite impressed with the pictures of your product- looks very well made.
