I am new to SW and have spent many years in the large cichlid field. I am aware of the compatability issues, just not with SW fish. here is what I am
shootin' for....
3xAnthias 1m, 2f
Toby
Orange Spotted Filefish
Yellow Tang or WhiteCheek Tang
Flame Angel
Bi-Color Angel
2xHeniochis
Foxface
Jawfish
Small Wrasse (six line) I'd like something similar to a Lunar

possible...
3xChromis
hawkfish (longnose or flame)

I'd like a Snowflake Eel, Dogface Puffer, Naso Tang Trigger...My tank is too small for them. maybe next tank?

i think all is good accept the tank.

i would go for a smaller tang like a tomi tang or a kole tang.

no dog face puffer or trigger cause of tank size. they need much larger tanks.

SFE would not be the best choice cause of your fish selcetion. they will get aggresive when they get some size on them.

You will more than likely have some aggression issues with two dwarf angels in a 90. Have your read up on the orange spots? They are one of the harder fish to keep and definitely not beginner friendly. I would scrap the tang and foxface due to their adult size.

The hawkfish, wrasse, and toby are going to going to limit your cuc.

This is so damn frustrating. Arghhh! Trying to find info and experience at the same time.

+1. I would skip all the fish in your "possible" and "like" list, except the flame hawk which I think would make a great addition as one of the most interesting and personable fish seen in the hobby. Also, make sure you get a one spot foxface instead of a foxface lo. Both of these fish look completley identical, except for the spot and the fact that the one spot foxface reaches 1/2 of the adult size making it suitable for your sized system where a foxface lo gets way too large. I would also not do two dwarf angels in this sized system. Moreover, the bicolor dwarf angel can be difficult to keep and thus would go for the much hardier flame angel or maybe a coral beauty angel. I would also skip the orange filefish and go with a much easier species of filefish to maintain, such as this one.

You could get by with the yellow or white cheek tang, but I think you would be better off also with a tomini or kole tang which are less aggressive and more suitable for your tank size. I would also avoid the jawfish because you will require a deeper sandbed. In a fowlr without a clean up crew, a deep sandbed is likely going to wind up as a nutrient sink which will cause major algae problems. Believe me, there is nothing worse than an ugly hair algae infested tank. In terms of a wrasse, there are quite a fiew very colorful wrasses that are slightly larger than a sixline, but are less aggressive and suitable for your stocking. The below are several good choices.

OK...
Flame hawk
Kole tang
Flame Angel
Christmas Wrasse
One Spot Foxface
3x Anthias
CUC
Blennie or Gobie
Fire Shrimp

The wrasse may eat your shrimp and cuc but other than that the list looks good to me. I always do 2 of each type of shrimp- they'll breed regularly creating a short but entertaining feeding frenzy.

A good list. Your shrimp will be at risk with the flame hawk and the wrasse. If it were me, I would nix the clean up crew and the shrimp since you are not keeping corals anyway, and the foxface and tang should do a great job at keeping algae and detritus controled. The lack of inverts and corals opens up options in terms of fish stocking, and I would take advantage of this. I would add a toby puffer or two to your list because I think that they will be your favorite fish. Also, I would probably skip a blenny because they tend to fight with tangs quite a bit. A goby could work, but they tend to be kind of shy. I think you may like a royal gramma or yellow tail damsel better than the goby and would work well in your system.

I would go with the addition of two toby puffers and either a royal gramma or yellow tail damsel and skip the inverts, blenny and goby. I think then you will have a fully stocked and very interesting fish list.

Any two of these toby puffers will work:

The valentini will eventually kill the pistol. Finding a pair of flames is going to be tricky. LA/DD has them occasionally but they sell almost instantly. Antihias would look great but read up on their feeding requirments. Which wrasses specifically? Not all of them get along together.

I was figuring that about the Valentini, so, he's out.

Christmas or somekind of flasher wrasse.
My LFS has them quite often. I dont know how. But he get's em.
