Please Critique My Stocking Plan

Hi everyone! I have a BioCube 14 nano tank (about 10 gals actual water volume) with the following equipment:

3x24 power compacts (1 10,000K, 1 actinic, 1 10,000K/Blue) - 12 hour photoperiod
MJ900 for circulation
Koralia 1 for flow
Mini Chiller

I have no skimmer, but I run Chemi-Pure and Purigen continuously. I've converted one of the rear sump chambers into a refugium growing chaeto on a reverse-daylight schedule.

The tank will be dominated by soft corals and zoanthids; it will have no LPS or SPS. Wherever possible, I intend to buy aquacultured corals. Here's my stocking plan:

1 Heliopora (blue ridge coral)
2 Neospongodes (1 purple, 1 yellow)
1 Pompom Xenia
1 Capnella (Kenya tree)
1 Sarcophyton elegans (Fiji yellow leather - the centerpiece)
1 colony of Pachyclavularia (GSP)
Several vividly colored zoanthid colonies
A few vividly colored mushrooms (Actinodiscus/Discosoma, Rhodactis, Ricordea)

Other livestock is to be as follows:
2 Astraea snails
2 Nerite snails
2 Nassarius snails
1 shrimp (to be determined)
1 or 2 fish (to be determined)
1 harlequin serpent star

A few specific questions:
  • My tank is 12" deep from surface to sand. Will the S. elegans have enough light if I place it on the sand?
  • Are these corals compatible? Should any of them be kept away from any others?
  • Is this too much for a 10-gallon tank?
  • Any special considerations I should be aware of?
Thanks! I'm determined to do this right and your help is greatly appreciated.

Jeremy, how many species would be appropriate for this size tank, and which ones should I consider dropping first?

If you are wanting Sarcophyton elegans as your center peice, I would stick with it, zoas and maybe some shrooms.
