Yesterday after a water change I was cleaning the glass. Turns out this acro has grown more than I thought and I absolutely smacked it with the mag float. I took off a layer of flesh on the tip near the glass, but otherwise the coral looks fine. Today I took a close look at the tip I smashed and this is what I saw:

What am I looking at? These polyps? look quite different than the rest, and look different than the polyp did before I smashed it.

Wow that looks cool, you smashed right in the face. I'd say if you have polyp extension your good.

What is that acro by the way?

To be quite honest, I'm not entirely sure. I got it on the Divers Den tour. I lost the label that had what they guessed to be the scientific name, but I do remember them saying it came from an all blue mother colony. When it was fragged it turned kind of rainbow with fluorescent green tips. It's a really nice piece. It has lost a bit of color under the 10k halide, but it still pops pretty well when just the T5s are on. In any case, it's growing nicely.
