Please help! 1 1/2 SPS dying over night...

So should I stop the kalk and only use Kent liquid calcium and magnesium when needed per bottle instructions?

I agree that the alk swings are the killer...
Use turbo calcium to raise your calcium wo raising alk...

Use your log to find your rate of change with your alk/calc...

Kalk dripping would work good in a tank your size...

Look up Mrs wages pickling lime to save u some money, and read the articles on alk and calcium...

Most important for an sps tank.

Okay, I was able to buy Seachem Prime from the LFS. I added a capful per directions. How soon before testing and how many days?

You really shouldnt have anything in your tank if you have nitrites. That means at some point there was ammonia as well...that just cant be good and i am actually surprised that all your other stuff isnt dead as well.

---you can detoxify nitrites via a product from Seachem called PRIME

nitrite will effect your fish alot more than your coral as it will inhibit oxygen uptake from their blood.. i would dose with prime now

Low levels of nitrite aren't poisonous in saltwater tanks like they are in freshwater tanks. I wouldn't even bother testing it...

I think your Alk swings probably have alot to do with your problems. Sometimes problems will develop some time after an alk swing (speaking from experience here unfortunately).

That huge deadly frogspwan near touching that half dead frag seems an indicator...those things pack a deadly sting by just being nearby...heck even in the same tank as sps...you got invisable chemical warfare going on....stressful to them acros...

agreed an alk swings..very bad...
