Hi everybody
I am having my only problem now is I can connect to the ac3 via my lan Ip but when I type in my internal ip (wan) I get nothing
I have had it working before but now nothing , my router is a dlink so I shouldnt need to appy for a dns account at least I dont think so , also my router is port forward to port 80 which I dont think my provider time warner blocks ...somebody please help me its driving me crazy ..

Unless you are using static IP you will need to get an dyndns account in order to resolve your external address. I have all the screens and such on my website at kenargo.com (look at the questions page, there is a topic dedicated to accessing the controller from the internet.

still no luck

still no luck

Hi Ken thanks for the reply , I did the dns sign up but it still wont work ??? I am lost on this one

Have you taken a scan at the FAQ on my website? I have screens for the D-Link router that should help (they should nearly match your).

If so what is working? Can you access the controller internally (within the home network)?

ken
yes i read your faqs and every thead i could find about this . i can connect to the internet internally just not outside wan

Did you read up on port forwarding, ISPs blocking the default port 80 and DynDNS? The problem is likely one of these three.

BTW, why do you refer to your internal IP address when talking of the WAN?

If you are accessing via the WAN then you would need to use your public external IP address assigned by your ISP.

i tryed all of that

i tryed all of that

It might help; what are you using for the WAN address?

80 but when I go to my controller it says 80 but i think its actually 800 at least thats what my controller says when I try to mess with it ,

If it works internally on your LAN without putting in the port nummber on your browser then the default is port 80.

Did you set up in your port forwarding on your router and what port did you set up?

i set up port 80 i had dlink walk me through but i have done many times plus i looked on kens site ,,, i know I am missing something stupid here

1) you MUST set up port forwarding.

2) MAY BE NEEDED - Chances are your ISP is blocking port 80 as consumers are not usually allowed to run servers on their systems. You get around this by using a different port and then forward that to 80.

You said earlier you checked these things but I am now starting to doubt that.

i checked all of these .. i just reset my router , redid port forwarding to port 80 the only thing I havent tryed is to change the port #
how exactly do I do this ? I set up my d-link on there port forwarding page
start =80 end =80

ok well maybe I am doing it wrong how do I do that exactly ?
do I just change the starting port and keep the ending port at 80
