PLEASE HELP ! AC3 problems with WAN

yes i like that site ... heres what i get when i enter 1080
Error: I could not see your service on 76.170.244.167 on port (1080)
Reason: Connection timed out

Either your port forward is not working (any:any -> 76.170.244.167:1080 being forwarded to 192.168.1.50:80)

or

your AC is not listening on 80

Other than that, I am at a loss.

Sorry.

thanks for your time i am close to throwing in the towel and buying something else kinda sad considering I have had neptune along time
this is my 3rd controller

Don't reset quite yet...

When you access the controller from inside the home are you using:

http://192.168.1.50

I don't suspect the controller is the issue but tackling the problem in reverse should help identify the issue.

Ah, d-link default subnet. looks good. What this tells me is that you are (100%) using port 80 internally.

On the d-link how do you have port forward setup? D-Link has 2 kinds of port forward; Virtual Server (which I prefer) and Port forward. Both are on the "Advanced" setup page.

Oh, sorry, I thought all the d-links would have had the same firmware...

Since we know you are on port 80 (for the AC3) are you certain that your ISP isnt blocking port 80; it is more common than you might think? I assume you have port forward configured to forward port 80?

i set up a account per your web page at dns.com i set up a host name and put that into my router weather it works or not I am not certain ..thats the only information i put into the router as far as dns

If you go to your dyndns page (dyndns.com) there will be a "Last updated" for the address; if the router is talking to the dyndns server it will have an address and a date. You can also look at the dlink router status and get the public address (and use that to connect to the controller).

Sorry if I am asking many questions but not knowing your DLink firmware I need to ask...

Does the port forward include source and destination ports or just one that is used in internet and intranet?

My DLink logs incomming connections attempts; does your and if so do you see a connection? If you don't then it could be that port 80 is being blocked by your ISP and you should try a different port but remember to set a new port for both router AND AC3 (depending on the level of configuration supported by the router).

got it all fixed Thanks a lot to you Ken and to Russ for the extra work he did . Ended up being a faulty router
