I was in the process of updating my firmware tonight and my power flickered and froze my PIII. I waited 30 minutes and it continued to say downloading. I tried reseting the power and now the screen is blank and the buttons are glowing blue dimmly.

What should I do???

Is it possible to buy just a PIII controller only??? I didn't see it on GHL-Direct or Progressive Reef. I need one ASAP! Please help!

Thank you!

if the update with ProfiLuxControl failed it is possible to update with another tool

1. download http://www.aquariumcomputer.com/Download/Flash-FR.zip
2. save it somewhere you will find it, no installation required
3. start "flash.exe"
4. select "MB91F467D" as controller, 4MHz, navigate to the firmware file (click "open")
5. check the interface (under "set environment")
6. disconnect ProfiLux 3 from power (it is not necessary to open the enclosure and to set a jumper like it was ProfiLux II!)
7. now click "full operation" - ProfiLux still has no power!
8. plug in the DC-connector - ProfiLux has now power again and the download should start

Hint: If the update with ProfiLuxControl failed then there is maybe something wrong with your connection from PC to ProfiLux 3. Please ensure that your connection is stable and reliable before attempting to update with ProfiLuxControl or this tool, e.g. check the USB driver and update it if possible.

The flasher tool is a great piece of software. I have used it in a similar situation. The first time, it took me like two hours to get everything up and running. Then I decided to test what went wrong. The second time I did it in like five minutes. The third was in less than two minutes.

Good luck.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. When after I download the link and click the flash.exe i get an error saying "REGIST FAILED" and it will not open the program???

Thanks for all you help guys! I'm back up an running!

Also...

Personal Laptop - Windows 7 - "REGIST ERROR" upon clicking .exe file.
Work Laptop - Windows XP - "REGIST ERROR" upon clicking .exe file.
Old College Laptop - Windows 2000 - Worked Flawlessly

Thanks again for all you help! My girlfriend would have killed me if I have to buy a new controller!!! LOL

Thanks!

Im honestly am not sure why it wouldn't load. I just kept trying different computers until it worked. My old laptop from college had Windows 2000 on it and the Flasher work great.
