Please help ID what my sick fish has...Brook?

My clown trigger is in a 125 tank alone and he came down with what I though was ich, now his skin looks white. I'm not sure if it's from all the scratching he has been doing or what. I haven't notice a loss of appetite but he is darting occasionally. I haven't notice his slime coat coming off either.

How long have you had him? Clown triggers can turn nearly white. Your photo is not definitive, but it does not appear to be ich, but could be velvet or brook. Any skin peeling?

I've had him since Dec. no skin pealing that I can see. So you think his scales look 'roughed' up scales could be from him scratching? I can see lines from where he's been doing this on his body. I will get better pics up

How long have the white dots been visible? If more than a few days, it's unlikely to be velvet. I see what looks to be white spots on the posterior dorsal fin which would indicate crypto. Really hard to tell from the angle of the photo, though. If you can get one straight-on, it might make diagnosis easier.

This could also be flukes, if the fish hasn't been wormed; I'd do so now with Prazi-Pro...it can be used in the DT. I'm not great with pics, but this could easily be velvet. Does the large area of skin have any goldish tint or a sheen of any color when the light hits just right? Often seen when viewing the fish head (or tail) on? If skin starts peeling or sloughing off, then its brook. If the fish continues to eat for a week or so after noticing this stuff on its flank, I think you can rule out brook or velvet.

Probably about a week with his skin looking like this for 4 days now.

I think if it was velvet he would be dead by now as it's been a few days. I bought a cleaner wrasse to help him. My water is fine with the exception of nitrates 40 ppm. There's no sign of skin or slime coat peeling off, it's almost like he has been scratching so much that his skin just looks raw and dull.

If this is brook (as thread title states) IME skin peeling doesn't start right away. It does take a few days. It took a flame angel I had 12 days before his skin started peeling. I originally thought he had ich and began TT and on 4th transfer I saw his skin peeling. I immediately started formalin dips.
