Hi -
I'm hoping to get some help. I found this as a favorite on his computer and thought someone could weigh in. My husband left for a multi week business trip and I'm in charge of the tanks. Came home from work today and found his salt tank lights off- worked around the auto timer (lights s/b on at 7pm) and have lights now. All reef things seem to be rather shrivled up - is this because of lights? Fish seem to be swimming but all the "soft stuff" seems curled up....could I have some other problem - any insight would be greatly appreciated. have call into husband but don't know when he'll call!!!
Thanks so much - Heather

The corals will take a little while to open up once the lights are turned on. Most corals should open up in an hour or so.

hi heather.. are they different then when the lights would come on before ,did you notice? they should be ok,they react to the light ,some of mine close up so tight, when lights are off. i have read a few forums, where some keep lights off a few days at a time each month ,they claim corals look great..
but one thing i would have you check is the temperature, its can change everything a heater can go out anytime.i was to late once to figure it out ,i lost alot of corals..
just hang in there .they'll be find ,when he gets back he'll think .how big everything looks..
good luck, ruth
