Please help me chose a skimmer!

Ok, I might in the market for a new skimmer and these are my choices in my price range....

Octopus NW-200

ASM G-2 (A lil higher in price but I might be able to get it cheaper or used)

Coralife Super Skimmer 220

RPS-1000

I have a 125g with a 30g sump and it is fairly medium stocked and I will probably add more. I am leaning toward the Octopus NW-200, but I will probably have to modify my sump to get them to fit.

Coralife CSS is not even in the same league.

Whatever you choose, just don't get the smallest recirc skimmer, the RPS-1000. I saw this in a 3 skimmer comparison at my local dealer and it just doesn't perform well and runs very hot. :thumbsdown:

How could it run hot with an 18 watt pump? Especially if you're running the intake from your overflow. The great thing about this skimmer VS the octopus version ( since they are the same skimmer essentially) us that it has an adjustable gate without having to buy one custom.

well I have all the materials to make my own gate valve now so that wont be a problem down the road since I would be putting one all of them down the road
