Don't Ask Me I Don't Know
Hi,
I'm looking for some info on dosing pumps.
I had a Sentry (refurb medical pump) a few years back. This was OK, but a little big and bulky. I sold it.

Then I had an Aqua Medic ReefDoser 2. I tried 2 units. Nothing but trouble! With the first one the tubes would slip off the rollers and get jammed. The second one the computer board never worked. Gave up.

I see that BRS sells the single ones, but they need a light timer and can't be controlled as I would like.
The LiteMeter doesn't go low enough for small tank.

So, is there anyone else out there that sells a dual or triple dosing pump that can be recommended??

And what are other people using??

I would like the GroTech but not the $800+ price.

Thanks,
Jon

you can use the dosing pumps from BRS and get a reefkeeper or aquacontroller to run them. Thats what I am currently putting together.

Lou- I would like the Proflux but it's the price that is holding me back.
Hey Paul, I'm using the ACjr. now but I would need another DC8 or DC4 (no outlets left).

+1 for profilux. it's expensive but you won't be dissapointed, plus it's expandable to more channels than the litermeter which limits you to 3 channels

bulk reef supplies dosing pumps work great for me and are real slow so they arent real good for ato but great for dosing making them ideal for small tanks as well as larger ones that dont require massive calcium dosing

if by good you mean cheap and works than brs will do the job. 2 pumps and the timers to run them will be about $200. just sit back and watch them work there magic.

With the Litermeter what is the lowest ml it can dose in a day?? I thought it was 50ml is this wrong? The lowest price I saw was $300 for the main unit plus $140 each for 2 more pumps. How are the extra pumps mounted, on the main unit or can they be in q different spot?
The Profilux looks like it is an all in one unit and it is cheaper.

Does anyone know a link to the manuals for me to read?

Last, what size are both units?

Thanks again for the help.

Yea, $200 would be great. I'm just hope to have something that works without extras like timers. It would be best if it was all in one.
We moved and I had to downsize to the 34 gal until the house is done and the stand is pretty full that is the reason for the all-in-one.

correct. the LM3 minimum dose is 50ml. for a smaller tank all you have to do is dilute the two-part with water.

i diluted at first, but as my sps grew out i now dose non diluted warner marine two-part at a rate of 70ml Ca and 90ml Alk everyday on a 55g tank.

i switched from ESV Bionic to Warner Marine two-part about a month ago and polyp extension is better. colors about the same.

the extra pumps for the LM3 are separate and can be mounted anywhere. they are the size of two snickers bars. the LM3 is half the size of a brick.

goodluck

I'm working on designing a multi-pump peristaltic pump module with dosing functions. how many pumps within one module are you guys interested in? what are some typical dosing ranges ml/min, ml/hr, or ml/day?
