Hi
I am new at saltwater and I just encountered some weird thing in my tank. The picture quality is not great but the lots of white spot, u see, are little insects(?) and those are all over the tank and rocks. I have know idea what it is. Is it some thing that causes disease? It started to happen after I put a clownfish in my tank about a week ago. I have kept this tank with some dwarf hermit crabs and a mantis shrimp for more than 2 months and it never happened before. What should I do? Experts! Please help me...:(

oh and the clownfish is not doing well. She swims weak and not eating anything. :(

They're probably copepods, isopods or amphipods - collectively referred to as pods :D Nothing to worry about, and a source of food for the fish in some cases.
Can you post your water parameters and a picture of the fish (if she has spots/sores)? The more info the better, hopefully someone can help you find out what's wrong with her.

Get tests for salinity (refractometer), alkalinity, nitrate and ammonia. The last two should be near 0. Probably your parameters are pretty good because you're getting pods.
You have very small tanks: evaporation is going to be extreme. That's why the very good salt meter. Mark a fill line on your tanks representing the water level when the salt content is a perfect 1.024-6. Fill with saltless ro/di water to that level daily to keep the salt level constant. That will do a lot to keep fish healthy. Watch your temperature: about 80 degrees, with very little leeway. Do a 10% water change weekly.

Thanks guys! I will post water parameter tonight when I get home. I feel so relieved. :D
But I still worry about my clownfish. Why does she swim weird? She doesn't eat anything at all. She usually don't swim but when she try to avoid food, she swims well. weird... I usually give her selcon soaked frozen mysis shrimp. Is that not a good food to give? I don't know... Anyway I will try to post a video as well.
Thank you guys for help.

Picture is not very clear ... however in the vast majority of cases "white spots" on the glass as simply pods which are harmless and have nothing to do with disease -- your never going to see "ich" on the glass .. just too small.
