:spin3: I purchased this clownfish several months ago. I only recall the word "true" was used to describe him. In recent months I noticed that he was getting very dark. I started looking into the different types of clownfish and would like some clarity on just what type he is and how one would tell (with certainty)??? I think he may be a onyx but ....i dunno ....Can someone help me

Nice clown! Maybe true onyx percula? The price tang will help to know if its onyx:). It looks onyx, though.

Thanks I thought/hope so....When I first brought him home my son said " he doesnt look like nemo".... If he's an onyx then that will add to his kool points....

Is the "price tang" a user name here on RC?

If I recall correctly, onyx have black dorsal fins. Wild percs, especially Papuan ones, have a LOT of black between the stripes. But someone with more experience can better determine. Either way, it is a gorgeous fish!

Nope. Stupid phone typo. Tang to the phone is tag to me haha

LOL... I tried looking up the member "price tang"....

If I remember correctly I paid $35-40 for him at the LFS. Funny thing is, I remember thinking "WOW" thats wayyy toooo much for this fish. But it was a teenage boy selling it and I went ahead and bought him. He implied that I was getting a good deal but I NEVER thought so...not until I paid a lil bit more attention to a pair of "true percs" and noticed they were no where near as dark as my "nemo". So I started checking for characteristics and ...thats how I ended up rambling on RC...:hmm3:

I have no idea what it should have cost since I dont know what it is...lol...
