please help me, tank is crashing!

dude what test kits are you using? take the water to aquaholics and have them test it. if you are only doing a 8 gallon water change and nothing else you values are off or your not using the test correct. and what is that with the range of 40-80? i just don't see a 8 gallon water change having that much effect on it

Yeah Dan, U Just need do do ALOT more water changes, i would make water for you, buty like i said before, my little valve thingie on my RODI is broken, water squirts everywhere, so, idk what to do... But just keep up with the water changes and the testing. Doing a test every two weeks is not good at all, alot of stuff can happen in two weeks (ex. this). And dan, i remember seeing spnge "melt" in your tank right when you got that rock from mac. The florida rock stuff, it had tons of sponges on it, and they were like falling or "melting" off of your rocks, so it may be that, but that was a while back, so IDK.

If you see melting sponge remove it!!!! That means it is dieing and decaying and will drive your params crazy.

I did the whole Florida Live Rock thing, most of the sponges that come on the florida live rock can not handle air at all and will die, and cause your tank to go crazy. :P

Also to drop your ammonia down .25 it takes a 25% water change, so I agree take your water to get tested.

Buy new test kits. API sucks, and I learned from experience. I freaked out one day because it showed my calc was way high. Yeah, it was off by atleast 100. Take water to your LFS and ask them to test it while youre buying more water for another bigger waterchange.

LOL We all know Brannon LOVES teh TBS rock! Sorry, hubby, I had to do this :)
