My water source is my well, no phosphates or heavy metals(tested). I have 2 Seio pumps 620 & 1500 gph moving the water in the tank. An Aqua Medic Turbo protein skimmer & 80 lbs of live sand. I have about a 4" sand bed. The rest of the info you need you can find by clicking on my gallery or looking at the bottom of my post for LR amounts.

Not good enough. RO/DI is essentially pure 100% H2O.

To that, you add your synthetic salt which adds all the ions and elements you need. Even drinking water of amazing quality doesn't cut it. You want a bare H20 template from which to add your synthetic salts.

Anything less and you're asking for trouble.

checkout www.twopartsolution.com I have their stage 6 R/O DI unit and it works great...My Tap was @ 550ppm filtered through my frig filter down to 350ppm and through the R/O @ 8ppm and thourgh the DI @ 0ppm...

As u can see it works...I would also use it as my top off for your tank and setup...

I heard once there is cyano it will just go out of controll? or is this only if you give it something to eat (fish waste, extra food)??

I have had cyano in my tank a couple of times without having it get out of control. Definately siphoning off any waste off the substrate & more water movement keeps it at bay.

I just updated my profile for those of you wanting more info. on my system. Someone had asked about what pumps i am running inside the tank. I am currently running 2 Seio Super Flow Pumps (1500 & 620 GPH). I also have a Mag Drive 700 returning and rippling across the top. Is that not enough current in the tank? If not, what else does anyone suggest?
