my blue tang is going threw ich at the moment and i was medicating the whole tank with kick-ich a reef safe medication. http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewI...m_Supplies-Medications-Parasites~vendor~.html (the kick-ich) the spots have seemed to disappear today, as today was the 7th day medicating however he seemed more violent and was breathing very heavily. i moved him to my quarantine tank shortly after, this was at id say 3pm. it is now 1:16am and his stomach seems a lil lighter in color kinda like a yellow belly blue tang. his breathing has come down a bit. i dont know if you would say its normal but it is for sure not as fast as i saw it earlier in the day. there are a few ich spots left on his body and near the mouth id say total spots would be under a half dozen. any help on understanding why its stomach is a lighter color ( as i can see mayb its the tank maybe its the light im looking at it in i dont kno) and if he may or may not recover in your opinion based on the info i have given you would be greatly appreciated thank you =).

The color changes you are seeing are his sleeping colors. They lighten up at night time.

Are you starting a hypo salinity treatment? That's what I had to do.

Kick-Ich, and the like, are no good. As waste of money.

The only way to prevent another cycle of ick is to hypo or treat with copper while in QT. I prefer hypo. I have no experience with copper treatments. You will also have to deal with leaving your display tank empty of fish for at least 6 weeks - or the ick will come back.

If you search here for ick you will find all you need to know to perform the hypo salinity treatment and hopefully save your tang. If he only had a few spots of ick, you probably caught it in time. But the heavy breathing is certainly a concern.
