please help, need advice on fish

I have had a sailfin tang for sometime now, and he was the last large fish added, I had before him a longnose butterfly and a bi color angel which both died during a tank crash which I was able to save but not in time for them, I was on vacation. well, I just purchased the best looking orange pearlscale butterfly I have ever seen and the tang hates him. what do I do? after adding them I made them go to sleep by turning off all lights.. is there a way to stop the aggressiveness? I have a large enough tank... don't want to get rid of the tang, that butterfly is so good looking... don't know what to do... any advice appreciated! do you think that he will stop chasing him after he gets used to him? I almost just want to trade him for another pearscale if he doesnt stop.....

My experience with sailfin tangs is that they will sometimes pester a new tank mate for 24-48 hours, but after that they usually leave them alone.

If it was me, as long as no physical damage is being done, I'd give them at least a day or two together to see how things work out.

i dont really think the tang is capable of physical damage lol, but he sure was stressing him alot, but i will wait a couple of days and see, thanks, you make me feel a little better!

In my experience when I add new fish and notice aggression I change around the rock work or put a mirror up to the tank. Just some food for thought.

what do you guys think of trading my sailfin for a new sailfin? that way, i get one with no territory issues... he is still being mean to him this morning......
