So i went on a trip on thursday and got back right now to find the tank room with the AC off, the temp is around 86 degrees and the corals look stressed, though i dont see any thing dead, dying or RTNing. I need to know whats the best way to go about fixing this as i bought some frags that i want to put in the tank but dont want to stress them out too!!! please help!!!!!!

a fan blowing across the surface of the water will drop the temp. Open some windows if it's cooler outside.

you can always use ice cubes. i used them last summer when i got over 100 (air temp not tank temp). and run your a/c for a while. that should cool it down and use a small fan to blow across the water. you don't want to cool it down too fast, so this should work.

ok ill do that now...should i be worried about the corals? or you think it wont be too bad for them??? can i add the new frags??

Fans are the best thing you can do for cooling off a tank. The coldness of the ice isn't supplemental enough to cool an entire tank. I've tried that idea many times.

Maybe it's time someone gets a chiller??

I think you got to it before it got out of hand, I have heard of tanks getting into the 90 degree range and not losing anything.
