Please Help !! Planted Tank

PLANTED TANK WILL A UV STERILIZER HELP!!! My water is staying green for some reason.I have been reading alot about the greenwater in a planted tank. Everyone says this will help.Can any one help me out ? No Algae on glass !! Just the water. Please Help !! I also have some drift wood for sale

What size tank and lights are you running.If you have high lights and not running co2 it will cause algea.On my 120 I am only running 220 watts of t5.

I am using.... 1 x 97W 6,700K ..The tank is 56 gal tall ..Less than 2 watts per gal ..What am I doing wrong ? I have alot babies mollies an shrimps too.Could it be 2 many fish.

I would start by taking away light for a bit and do some large water changes. I am running a single 20 watt strip on my 30 gallon planted, but I have low light plants in mine.

Cut back on the light,and like Marcus stated do water changes,I would do 20% water changes weekly until it's gone.

That's good news. Don't use those chemicals that say Algae destroyer or things like that. Solving what is causing the issue is always the best route.

Are the shrimp and plants all doing ok?

Every thing is doing good...I bet a have a 100 shrimps in the tank.Plants are great an growing .I got 3 female mollies an now i have 100 babies....Need to give some away soon....I have 3 female plecos an now I have 15 babies. I was thinking made be the water was green because of all the babies.But I guess not because the green water has all clear up....Thanks for all your help!!!
