please help-which camera!!??

ok well i planned on saving x-mas money for the camera i really want the canon DSLR eos rebel XTi but with the price i dont know how possible that is i mean i might be able to EVENTUALLY get the body but getting a good lens and a battery pack and all that tripod ect will just be way to expensive! so i would like to know your opinion on a good camera to get that is below the, say 600 dollar line i dont care about much as long as it takes really good pics of aquariums and good macro shots of corals! thats all i ask , not to bad right? so if you have any advice or a link please let me know i have been researching at dpphotograph or what ever it is but i would rather hear from people that shoot the same stuff as i do cause shooting tanks and shooting flowers are diffrent!

well i went to sears and they had the canon powershots a540 and a530 and personally i think the pics on the a530 looked better and they are within my budget so i was wondering what you guys think of these cameras

Take a look at the Canon S3IS or S2IS and the Fuji S9000 (I think the newest Fuji might be the S9100). Those are great "advanced" digital cameras that have a LOT of flexibility similar to a DSLR but there is no lens changing or anything....all in one neat little package. Prices are really good too.
