its actually one of the lesser seen green algaes kept by aquarists. me personally, i like the look of it and keep it in the little display 2.5 gallon. it grows quite well with the 10 watt lamp i have over it but make sure you prune it well, otherwise it goes sexual and gets gunk everywhere. im not quite sure about the benefits of it in the refugium however.
