Got a cleaner wrasse and a damsel today. acclimated them for an hour and twenty min. as soon as they got in the water the wrasse started acting funny. i have a watchman goby diamond goby and a fire goby and they all seem to be fine. I come home to find the damsel dead and the wrasse near death. anyone know what could be wrong?

Probably with the acclimation, when I do acclimation I make sure I finish after 30 minutes, so far I haven't lost any livestock.

Read sk8r stickies about acclimation...

sorry for your loss...

I just hope it wasn't a parasitic disease, if it was, you'll probably have bigger problems on your hands than just two dead fish. Always quarantine new livestock.

^^^^^I agree^^^^

Also, many dealers keep fish at a low SG, sudden increase in SG can be a problem. Always know the SG of the dealer and plan acclimation accordingly. However, there are dozens of opinions on acclimation, whatever works. One day is about the average lifespan of most cleaners; I'd leave them on the reef where they're needed.
