My ALK is extremely low and i cant get it to raise up. I have a calcium reactor and using Kalk in my top off but the Alk doesnt seem like its doing anything.Im using 10 teaspoons of alk in a 5 gallon top off. My Alk is at 7.55 using a PH probe which i just calibrated last weekend. I have the calcium reactor effluent running into my fuge which is then gravity feed drained into my sump where i have the top off going into the chamber with the return pump. I dont know how to raise it? I lose about a gallon per day in evaporation. I am also using Kent kalk. My top off water is completly sealed besides a hole for suction.Im getting real nervous

How old is your calibration fluid? Have you tried checking it with a test kit? Hopefully someone using a calcium reactor will chime in as I dose my calcium manually and don't know how they affect params.

i meant to write my PH is 7.55. change everything about alk and add PH

Lets try this again sorry for first post i has ALK on my mind when i was writing this

my PH coming out of the effluent is 6.35. My alk is steady at 7.8. i was thinking of getting a airstone underneath the effluent cup or maybe even in the effluent cup itself. i really dont know what else to do :(

My drip is extremely slow. If i slow it down even a little bit it will close and the water wont come out. I even had to add a bubble per second to make it 2 bubbles per second to keep up with the ALK.

i just got a lime soda reactor and hooked it up to my skimmer air intake and put a airstone by the effluent cup dripper. I will see if these 2 have any effect on my ph

6.35 is too low for effluent coming out of the reactor. Your target should be 6.5. Increase the drip rate a little and slow your bubble rate. Your using too much CO2.

with the lime soda and the bubbler i got the ph up to 7.7- 7.8. Its only been about 12 hours or so since trying this method. My ALK is still about 7.7
