I have a few questions about zoas.
What is considered adequate lighting for zoas?
I have a 2 gallon aquarium with 50/50 lights 7,400 daytime/14,000 actinic
13 watts total.
Is that enough?

Also what is the average cost of blue tub zoas(per frag)?

Thanks in advance

For three varieties check out: (Just my opinion of course)
1) Armageddons
2) Daytrippers
3) Tubs Blues

The cost of the Tubs Blues depends on the frag. I wouldn't pay any more than $10 a polyp. Depends on where you go too. Other reefers are a good source for frags. (cheaper, healthier ect...)

I have the tubs blues and their polyps are rather small, I have about 15 different types and some of my favorites I dont know the names to

heres 2 pics, excuse the cyano its gone now

Astrea snails "love" the cyano. YUM YUM!

Nice pics. Looks like eagle eyes in the 3rd pic. I have this type as well. They spread quickly too. Always a +.

What is a good price for tub blues?
Also are they harder to take care of than any other zoo, or about the same?
Also is my lighting sufficient?

Just wanted to get multiple opinions

same as any other zoo, most people will rip you off, when I was looking for them on here people wanted to charge 10 dollars a polyp. I bought some from a guy on frags.org for 5 dollars a polyp. I paid for 5 polyps and he gave me like 12

he doesnt have anymore for sale right now, I just see some for 10 bucks. THey are not worth it IMO. I will sell polyps of mine for no more then 3-5 bucks a polyp. I cant see charging more then that.

That's the only real way to get those rarities to become "not so rare" and pricey. That's great for people like mewho can't afford to spend 10.00+for a single polyp.

I want nuclear greens and purple death but haven't seen them for lower than 50.00-60.00/polyp. YIKES!

I have heard that marine snow is good for your reef an the zoas also benefit tii. I am going to give it a try as well.

Another product out there called reef bugs is supposed to be really good too for all your reef peeps. Haven't tried it yet.

I have put Golden Pearls like (500micron size-basically powdered form) into the water and watched my zoas open and close. Not all did, but some were eating this stuff. I do this like once a week or so.

All they need to be happy is light and good parameters. They will eat mysis shrimp if target fed. I let mine catch mysis shrimp on there own. I just ran out of frags of tubs blues but should have some more in a month. I was selling 10 polyps for $10.
