Nice! Last year, there was a lone Hawaiian Longfin Anthias hanging out at Molokini. Was a real treat to see, as they almost never venture to recreational diving depths. This one was around 80 FSW.
I agree. The reefs on Lana'i are much better than those on Maui, save Molokini. Lana'i is well worth the extra effort. I had hoped to dive Moloka'i when we were there in October, but the conditions were not favorable on the Pailolo Channel.
BTW, were there still large numbers of Blacklip Butterflyfish (C. kleini) when you were visiting? They were everywhere in October, almost to the point of being annoying. See below:

Yes, I shot that clip with a GoPro and Sola 800 light. I have a ton of video from the last trip that I still need to sort through, as well as some from earlier in the year. Going to try to post more over the holiday while I have some time off.
The bicolors are definitely awesome. I saw the same harem last year but ran out of battery before I could shoot them. I love how they aren't afraid of the light - very photogenic.
