That is a form of dictoya algae...it can be a PAIN..... I have notice only a few tangs will eat it or urchins will eat it as well,if it's in a reef tank take it out as it will overtake your corals and anything else it lands on
To be safe I would pull the whole rock out and get another piece..... Very annoying algae

My tank is only 10G and I really don't want to remove rocks. I can either manually remove it or I have read some people using AlgaeFix Marine with good results.

I add it to my planted tank. I think plants are beautiful. Reef tanks? Been there.
