Hey, all. Got a Bellus Angel harem (one male, four females) shipped in three days ago; put them straight into QT. Two days ago, I started Prazipro... my normal QT routine is Prazipro for a week, then another dose of Prazipro combined with two weeks of Cupramine, and, if necessary, erythromycin. Haven't lost a fish yet, and the display is disease free.
The day that I started Prazipro, I noticed a tiny white bump on one of the fish. It's grown a little bit, and basically looks like a zit; it protrudes maybe an eighth of an inch. The fish seems fairly healthy... it's swimming a lot, and eating well. There is occasional bobbing near the surface, but it's not gasping or staying there for long. If it weren't for the bump, I would assume it's very healthy for a newly acquired wild-caught fish... it's the least shy of the bunch.
I know angels are supposed to be fluke magnets... not sure if this is what one looks like, or if it is something else. My LFS said it could be a virus and recommended going straight to Cupramine, but I normally like to give the fish a week before I start it, since I know it is a little stressful to them. I always ramp it up very slowly (broken into four doses instead of two) and run tests for levels.
I'm enclosing some pics... I don't want to panic, as it could be as simple as a wound during shipping, but I also don't want to lose a fish because I didn't jump on it.
