Please recommend a camera to get on Ebay

It's for a complete newbie, and I'm also on a budget. But I'd like it to be a gift to a special lady. Please help me out here guys. I don't know anything about a good camera, but she's been wanting one since forever. Not a sleek digital camera, but something more professional, and something that could take macro shots as well so I could use it too. :lol: My budget is around 200+

What are some model/manufactures I could look up?

Reasonable Price Ranges?

I think you need to define "professional" because what I'm thinking of as "professional" you will pretty much NEVER find for $200-$300. So could you be a little more specific.

FWIW, I would never buy a camera off of e-bay. Parts/accessories maybe but never the camera unless it's from Cameta Camera or a similar store. Just a personal preference. I guess you could call me a B&H (www.bhphotovideo.com) snob
