90gal tank 4ft hood light with 2-110 vho actinics and 2-250 20k M.H's did i go to blue? will sps corals thrive under this lighting or am i to far into the blue spectrum?

Thats going to be very blue, some corals may look awsome but I dont believe you will get much growth (if your doing corals), If you think its to blue for you, you can swap out the VHO instead of the halides to save money till its time to replace the halides.

Gipsy had a tank like that... 400watt radium in the middle, two 250watt 20,000Ks at the ends, and two 160watt VHOs over his 150g... very similar to what you are sporting.

Everything in the tank was blue, even if it wasnt supposed to be. Green maybe, but mostly blue. Things that were supposed to be red, or yellow.... were blue. The tank itself looked cool, but nothing had good color.

He asked me a while back what he could do to improve his wattage, and I suggested 250wattDE bulbs, like pheonix bulbs or something... and with some T5s. He ended up doing one better. Hes now using a Maristar with 3x250wattDE bulbs, and for the T5s he is using ATI blue+ bulbs. The result is a nice crisp day-blue look... very nice. The corals he has in there!!! Wow! All these years and nobody would have every guessed because the tank was so blue. The gold with red tip acros look awesome, and other corals have colored in so well I take a double-take every time I visit. Its that cool.
