Guys, save your self some money in the long run and go MH from the get go. JMO

How does this make any sense? The electricity used is usually considerably less with the T5's plus properly cooled t5 lamps will last twice as long as a MH lamp.

just an FYI but I'm now 14 months with my fan cooled t5HO and no problems so far what so ever. I will probably change them out at 18 months.

dvanacker, what is your bulb combination? Does your color look pretty similar in person to the picture (i.e. amount of blue) I like it and am thinking of going to the blue side.

Here's my 29:
3 bulbs overdrive (2 actinic + 1 aquablue)

please tell me the depth of your tanks too. i'm gonna do a 220gal trying t5's only. I believe the tank is 30 inches deep. need to know how deep is your deepest sps and what type of sps using t5's. I would like to see some successful tanks and what other opinions on required equiptment I would need to have a succcessful t5 tank. thanks

rogger im sure has never used t-5 but thats just his opinion. i had mh and now im trying a 6 bulb tek. so far, less heat, more light and a nice spectrum of bulbs, oh ya less energy.

i use all giessmann

1-midday
1-aquablue

2-actinic plus
2-pure actinic.
